CrystaLite offers a choice of attractive colors. Clear for clarity and maximum heat and light transmission. Bronze for a clear view with reduced heat and UV ray transmission to help protect carpets, walls and upholstery from fading. White for privacy and reduced heat and light transmission. Custom Colors available upon request.
Plastic Domes
Plastic skylites are made with one of three high-impact or impact resistant materials; acrylic, polycarbonate, and copolyester. Recommended for flat roofed structures, plastic dome skylites are light-weight, easy to install, and natural rainfall runoff helps with self-cleaning. Plastic exhibits superior structural strength and high wind/snow load capacity. CrystaLite’s triple layer plastic dome skylites exhibit excellent ultraviolet (UV) light resistance as well as offers the same insulating qualities as standard glass skylites.Not all glass is the same.
Different insulated glass components such as tinted, low-E, and laminated safety glass; will effect the thermal performance of the skylite. Tinted glass absorbs the heat. Low-E will reflect both the transfer of heat into the home and the loss of heat inside the home, which stabilizes both heat loss and heat gain. Laminated safety glass has a thin layer of vinyl in between the glass (PVB) that acts as a break for transmission of heat into and exiting the home, absorbs harmful UV rays, and helps reduce sound transmittance.
