Types of finishes available?
We have a new AlluminateTM Wood Rail Finish that utilizes a patented image-bonding technology that is compliant with strict AAMA 2604 standards.
In addition, we have 6 standard colors in baked on enamel. Custom colors could be powder coated, drylac, or color-match with a wet coat. No exotic finishes such as metal flek, or any kind of texture. Custom colors meant for indoor only, a clear coat will need to be added for outdoor applications. Other finishes available, clear anodize, bronze anodize, custom color match to paint chip.
Can a do-it-yourselfer install it?
Yes, If you put up the deck, you can put up the deck rail. But we sell exclusively to dealers. Contractors can purchase our railing systems from local lumber yards and glass shops.
How thick of aluminum is the railing system made of?
The vertical posts are extruded from aircraft grade 6063-T6 aluminum with 1/8" thick walls. The base plates are milled from 1/2" solid aluminum with counter-bored holes to mechanically fasten posts for superior strength.
What type of glass is used in the glass railing system?
1/4" tempered glass with seamed top and and bottom edges, polished on vertical edges, is standard in our railing system. Our standard glass options are clear, bronze, grey, and white obscure (for privacy).
Will my child be able to run though the glass in an accident?
Anything can happen, but that is unlikely. The glass in our glass railing system is thicker and stronger than the glass in most sliding glass doors. Ever find out the hard way that the sliding glass door wasn't really open?
Can the glass be cut to fit down stairs?
Tempered glass cannot be cut after the tempering process. All glass panels required in the system are field measured by the installer after the installation of the posts, including those needed for stairs.
How far can I run a single length of cable?
85 feet is the maximum standard. We sell the cable in 5 foot increments. We require a maximum post spacing of 4ft for residental and 3ft for commercial.
